John brings a strong background in finance, agriculture, and habitat restoration to our group. He worked for 11 years as an investment banker and options trader in Paris and Chicago. John was raised spending summers on his family’s farm in Alexander County, and had the opportunity to permanently move to southern Illinois in 1997 in order to actively manage and operate his own farm. He has since converted over 1,000 acres to wetlands and hardwood timber and raises soybeans, corn and rice. He and his wife Paige have two sons, one in college and one entering the sixth grade.
With his involvement in Buffalo Bluffs Hemp Farm, John is delighted to be a part of an operation that provides relief and wellness to a broad array of people. Because of his interest in and practice of conservation, John strongly appreciates the opportunity to work a small number of acres of hemp without the need for large amounts of chemicals or tillage.
